We’ve been waiting to show you this one for a long time…

Over the past few months, Invisible Window has had the privilege of getting to know and working with the amazing staff at Oskar Blues Brewery. These fine folks craft an amazing product with a near cult-like following (especially here in Colorado). Their brand is consistent and true – just a bunch of friends brewing the beer that they’d like to drink and sharing it with everyone.

After the initial discovery meeting, it was obvious that we had to produce a site that not only held true to Oskar Blues’ brand, but helped push the company to the next level. We integrated social media accounts heavily on the new site, brought the store to the forefront, gave the beers each their own page to display their personality and “flavor”. We highlighted the new restaurants, and of course, never lost site of the importance that live music has played in Oskar Blues’ history.

We hope you enjoy the site as much as we enjoyed making it. Just a hint, the site is best viewed with a pint in your non-mouse hand. It’s winter so we suggest a Ten FIDY.

Rosemary Hegarty is a physical therapist in Boulder, CO who specializes in treating both humans and animals. Rosemary’s site needed to be as unique as her practice with sections describing both areas of her expertise. Additionally, Rosemary wanted to be able to share information with peers and clients via a blog. At this point it’s probably no surprise that we built the site on WordPress. Take a look, it turned out really well.

Big Ring Cycles is a high-end bicycle shop in Golden, CO. Their previous site was an out-of-the-box solution that didn’t really convey the same level of knowledge and sophistication that a customer would feel when they walked in the front door. After an introduction by a mutual friend, it became apparent that Big RingCycles and Invisible Window were a great fit. We re-developed the site on WordPress, making the site much easier to update, and gave it the look and feel that a shop of this caliber deserves.

We love developing web sites and WordPress projects are the most fun, but the lines between work and entertainment get even further blurred when working on a site in an area that is a hobby. Thanks to the staff at Big Ring for all of your help putting the site together, and if you’re in the neighborhood – stop by and check out the shop.

IPAMS, the Independent Petroleum Association of Mountain States, has been a client of ours for quite some time. As their organization has evolved over the past few years, the way they use their website has also changed. It became apparent earlier this year that a CMS system for administering their site would greatly benefit the IPAMS staff. We had the challenge of tying the new CMS (we chose WordPress) into a member management system that IPAMS was launching at the same time.

The newly designed site gets pertinent information on the home page of the site, is much easier to navigate than the previous version, is easily updated by IPAMS’ staff, and ties into their external membership system seamlessly. As organizations and their sites change over time, often moving to a more sophisticated system is beneficial – we are glad to have had this opportunity to help IPAMS make this jump.

We have used WordPress to deploy many of our sites over the past few years, and with each deployment, we learn more about how to push the boundaries of what is possible with WordPress. Pulp is the culmination of many years of learning.

Pulp says “pulp is a salon for writers (and readers) working at the intersection of design, business, social sciences, and technology.” Pulp is a site where writers can share their ideas, working drafts, and final papers with each other. By sharing with the community, authors solicit feedback at every step of the writing process.

This site posed some unique challenges, we had to make portions of the WordPress admin available to each of the authors – and those portions needed to look and function like the rest of the site. These challenges became rewards in the end, when we figured out the solution to each and every one of them. Please check out the site, we’re quite proud of it.

Effective Educational Practices, based in Boulder, CO, runs seminars and continuing education for teachers of all levels. Having used their previous flash-based site for a few years, EEP felt some growing pains. The flash site was hard to update, and didn’t allow users the ability to do things like register for courses online or purchase books. Additionally the old site didn’t have an effective way for EEP to easily communicate with their users.

By using WordPress, adding online registrations, and deploying a blog that integrated throughout the site, we were able to meet all of their needs and give them a site that is very easy to update.

We use WordPress on a near daily basis. We build sites on its architecture, we expand it with plugins, and we’re even in the process of customizing it for a peer voting site. Ironically, it’s not that often that we get to help someone develop a pure blog on WordPress.

When the talented crew at Peter Holcombe Photography approached us about re-doing their blog, we jumped at the chance. This project was truly a collaborative effort. Peter and Kathy brought many ideas to the table, then gave us free reign to bring their ideas to life. To suit their needs, we customized WordPress and expanded many of the comment features to make good use of social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.
